Online Shopping A Double-Edged Sword.
KAJANG: Online shopping had become more convenient for the public compared to window shopping but is online shopping really reliable for the public?
Chang Yi Wen, 20, a broadcast student from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, has a habit of purchasing form online since 18.
“I think that online purchases are reliable, as long as you double check the shop owners' credibility and users review about the shop,” said Chang.
She added that her highest record of spending on online shopping was about RM 700 in a single day. Also, she had never encounter scamming problem from online shopping.
In contrast, other interviewee, Choong Yong Xuan, 22, from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, said that she does not believe in online shopping.
“I have never been shopping online because I prefer window shopping where I can see the items physically can assured me,” said Choong.
Her sister, Choong Yong Lin, 19, said that “I agree with my sister, it is because I have tried online shopping before but when I received the items it is not as same as what i saw online,”
Choong, sister, added that online shopping required customers to pay first without knowing how the real products will looked like and there is no guarantee of quality.
Choong, sister, said that the e-commerce shops should have guarantee to ensure the goods and online photos are the same, so that it does not only improve the credibility of the sellers and also help to increase sales.
Advises to online shoppers, double check every details of the product before placing order and check users review for every seller.
